About Us
Having served the community of Craighall Park, Rosebank, Sandton and surrounds since 2008, our seasoned team delivers a technologically advanced, highly precise, and exceedingly thorough eye care experience. We base all of our exams specifically around the needs of our patients and are dedicated to ensuring every patient feels comfortable and at home during their appointment.

We often get asked about the origin of our name, and, in short, it stems from a belief that there is an art to proper eye care. This is in terms of achieving accuracy, clarity and comfort of your vision but also in terms of the aesthetic, beauty and functionality of the frame you choose which is arguably equally as important. After all, every work of art needs a great frame.
And it may also have a little something to do with the fact that our resident optometrist and owner is an artist as well 🙂

Comprehensive Eye Exams
Comprehensive exams are essential for evaluating vision, monitoring overall eye health and early detection of potential issues. Typically, eye diseases in their early stages are largely asymptomatic, so having a professional examine your eyes is incredibly helpful in preventing permanent damage. Not only do we detect, diagnose and prevent vision-threatening eye conditions, during our eye exams we're also able to identify general health concerns.
Contact Lens Exams
Contact lens technology continues to evolve. At Art of Sight we offer our patients personalised, in-depth service to find the best solution for their contact lens needs, whether it is a single use contact lens, monthly use lenses or even if you haven't worn lenses before and would like to try them out.
Prescription Scuba Diving Masks
Clear vision is important for more than just enjoying a dive. Not being able to see your gauges or find your way back to the dive boat if separated from the group can be hazardous. Dive masks typically come with glass lenses due to its unique scratch resistance and optical clarity. When adding a script to the lenses, special refractive material is laminated onto the glass of the mask. These laminated lenses are installed in our lab, can be applied to any dive mask and can correct for any prescription, including prism lenses for divers suffering from double vision. They're also thoroughly pressure tested and come with a gaurantee. Custom dive mask lenses are produced in your exact prescription and can correct even very large refractive errors caused by nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism, ensuring the highest visual acuity underwater.
Pediatric Eye Care
Little eyes need big attention! We provide specialised eye care for children including comprehensive exams and myopia management. Our youngest of patients are always a priority and we make it as fun as possible.
Drivers Certificates
We provide you with the official Driver's Licence eye test report that is required by the traffic department.
